Beveridge is a historic town‑turned‑suburb located around 37 km north of Melbourne’s CBD, straddling the City of Whittlesea and Mitchell Shire. Its population stood at 4,642 in the 2021 Census, reflecting rapid growth as part of Melbourne’s northern expansion.

The town’s heritage is deeply tied to its early establishment by Andrew Beveridge, who built the Hunters’ Tryst Inn in 1845. That inn still operates today as a hotel, general store, and post office . Another attraction is its link to Australian legend Ned Kelly—his family lived here from 1854 to 1863, and his childhood home and former bluestone school/church still stand and are heritage‑listed 

Residents enjoy several community amenities: the Greater Beveridge Community Centre, local parks, and recreation areas like the Mandalay golf course with six‑kilometer walking trails . Local commerce is still developing, though a modest commercial precinct is planned. For a wider range of shopping, nearby towns—Wallan, Donnybrook, and Kilmore—provide supermarkets, retail services, and dining 

Education is anchored by Beveridge Primary School, a government school located near Mount Fraser. Secondary students typically attend nearby schools like Wallan Secondary College or Mickleham Secondary College 

Transport is mixed. Beveridge doesn’t have an active train station but is served by bus route 511, linking to Donnybrook station on the North East line. The old Beveridge station was closed in 1990, with remnants still visible  Road connectivity is strong via the Hume Freeway. However, recent reporting warns of looming transport congestion, as population growth might outstrip infrastructure—leading to overcrowding on V/Line and traffic bottlenecks unless upgrades are made

How much is it?

Eligible FHBA first home buyer clients will be entitled to a 50% cash rebate on the total referral fees paid to FHBA (FHBA Pty Limited) from the new home provider you proceed with (should FHBA have a referral agreement with the provider)

The FHBA 50 Rebate will typically range from $2,500 to $12,000 depending on factors such as the property type, property location and property builder.

The rebate will be paid after the full referral fees are received by FHBA from the new homes provider first

Eligible Properties

To be eligible, the property must be from an FHBA new homes provider partner or approved by FHBA first

Example

A first home buyer couple meet an FHBA Coach and tell the Coach about their desired property. After working out their budget, the Coach show’s them a range of properties from FHBA’s New Homes partners. The QLD couple are interested in a house & land package through an FHBA partnered builder. The builder completes the sale with the client including some custom inclusions. The builder pay’s FHBA an agreed referral fee of $15,000.” “The couple will be entitled to the following government grant and incentives:
