New Auckland is a well-established residential suburb in the Gladstone Region of Queensland, situated about 6 to 8 km southwest of Gladstone CBD. Named after Auckland Creek, it covers around 3.7 km² and had a population of approximately 5,266 residents according to the most recent census. The average resident age is about 32 to 33, and the average household size is around three people, reflecting a community of young families and working-age adults.

The suburb primarily consists of low-density residential housing, usually three to four-bedroom detached homes. Around 34–39% of properties are rentals, though most dwellings are owner-occupied or under mortgage. There are several parks, smaller shopping precincts, and well-maintained green streetscapes, making it a popular choice for family living and first-time buyers.

In recent years, New Auckland has shown strong property performance. The median house price is now about $555,000, reflecting roughly 22.5% growth over the past year. Units have a median price around $300,000, with 14% annual growth. Houses typically rent for around $500 per week with a rental yield of approximately 5.0%, while units rent near $340 per week with a yield of about 6.1%. Market turnover is steady, with around 194 houses and 35 units sold in the past year. Median days on market is 14 days for houses and 16 days for units. Listing prices for houses are near $499,500, while units are around $299,000, with yields hovering between 5.2% and 5.56%.

Transport is supported by local bus routes connecting New Auckland to the Gladstone CBD and surrounding suburbs. The suburb is located between Dawson Highway and Kirkwood Road, with convenient access to Gladstone Airport, which is about 10 km away.

There are no schools within New Auckland itself, but nearby options include Clinton State School, Kin Kora State School, Toolooa State High School, and Gladstone State High School. Childcare centres and recreational amenities are located in adjoining suburbs.

The community is described as clean, safe, family-friendly, and conveniently located near employment areas and retail centres. Locals often refer to it as a “hidden gem” within the Gladstone area.

While detailed crime data specific to New Auckland is limited, the suburb generally reflects Gladstone’s overall profile, which may include some property-related incidents in nearby areas. New Auckland itself is not considered high-risk.
