Salisbury Plain is a compact northern suburb of Adelaide, located roughly 19 km from the city centre. Covering about 1.35 km², it had around 1,324 residents in 2021 and has grown at a steady 1.8–2% annually.

The neighbourhood is largely family-oriented, with most homes being separate houses and a mix of couples with children and labourers forming the core demographic. The average household contains about three people, and the median age sits around 39–40, with mortgage repayments averaging $1,234 monthly.

The local property market has been very strong. The median house price is between $637,500 and $680,000, showing around 21–121% uplift over five years. About 20–51 homes sold during the past year, typically selling within 24–29 days and generating roughly a 4.4% rental yield, with weekly rents near $520–555.

Public transport access is modest. Only about 2–2.3% of residents commute by train or bus, with the majority relying on cars. The nearby Salisbury station on the Gawler line offers frequent services, but the suburb itself lacks a station directly within its borders.

Green spaces are a key feature—about 7 parks cover around 2.2–3.8% of the suburb’s area. Residents also value proximity to larger recreational assets like Cobbler Creek Recreation Park.

Education needs are met by schools in adjacent suburbs, including Salisbury High and Salisbury East High, with local primary schools also nearby.

On safety, Salisbury Plain experiences elevated crime rates relative to wider Adelaide. There were 129 crimes per 1,000 people in 2024—an increase from the previous year—with property-related offences comprising the majority. Community commentary echoes mixed experiences—some praise the suburb’s tidiness and convenience, while others caution against crime and poor public transport links.

In summary, Salisbury Plain is a small, family-focused suburb offering affordable housing with healthy growth and a reasonable quality of life. It benefits from green spaces and growing amenity—but prospective residents should weigh its crime profile and transport reliance on cars.
